Remember that saying, “Sometimes you’re the windshield, sometimes you’re the bug”? That’s pretty much how this month has been. I haven’t had much time to blog lately, and when I’ve had the time I absolutely haven’t had the energy.
On May 23, my husband was in a car accident. He broke his tibia and some ribs, and his femur jammed up into his hip socket breaking the socket. He was in the hospital to have surgery first on his leg and then on his hip, went to a rehab facility to recover, and thanks to some appalling care on their part ended up back in the hospital with a dislocated hip. It took a total of three tries on two different occasions to put his hip back in place.
The first time, it took two tries, but the next day it dislocated again. The doctor got it back in place, and put him in a cast to help the hip stay in place while it healed. He’s been back in a (different) rehab facility since last Saturday, and is still in a cast and a lot of pain.
And M. has Lyme. It’s been a great month….
As you can imagine, my life has consisted of work, running errands, visiting him, bringing our daughter to visit him, and trying to keep up at home on my own, living the “single mom” life since he’s been injured.
I started a May Review/June Goals post on May 20th, and haven’t had a chance to get back to it since. Honestly, my only goal for June has been to just get through this month.
I plan to start posting again with more regularity now that my husband is closer to home, not nearly an hour away. The kids are out of school and my youngest is done with camp so I have more free time.
I have some exciting new posts coming up, I’ve developed a new obsession (like I needed more!) and I have some big things in the works, so I’m happy to be back.
See y’all soon!
